TreatMark Privacy Policy

This policy explains how information is handled in TreatMark (the "app"), an app for iOS and Android.

1. Information collected by the developer

The app has no mechanism for the developer to collect or transmit your personal information or usage data. Specifically, the app contains none of the following:

As a result, there is no point in using the app at which you provide your name, email address, phone number, or similar details to the developer.

2. Information stored on your device

The app stores the following information on your device only. None of it is transmitted to the developer.

3. How calendar access is used

The app requests calendar access only when you explicitly perform an action such as "Add to calendar" inside the app. It is used solely to add, update, and delete Treat Day events in the device calendar you selected.

The app only ever records, updates, or deletes the events it created itself. It does not read, analyze, or transmit events created by you or by other apps.

If you decline calendar access, you can still create and view Treat Days and use notes in the app as usual.

4. How notification permission is used

Notifications are used only as local notifications generated on your device, 7 days before a Treat Day and on the day itself. The app does not use push notifications delivered from a developer server. If you decline notifications, the rest of the app remains fully usable.

5. Relationship with calendar providers (Google, iCloud, and others)

The app does not connect directly to any Google or Apple account. You choose the destination from the calendars that already exist on your device.

If the calendar you choose is configured to sync with an external service such as Google Calendar or iCloud, the dates of the events added to that calendar may be synced according to your device's OS settings and that service's settings. That syncing happens between your device and the calendar provider; the developer of this app is not involved in it and does not receive its contents. Please refer to each calendar provider's own privacy policy for how they handle synced information.

6. How notes are handled

The text of a note you attach to a Treat Day is kept only as app data on your device. It is never sent to the device calendar.

An event the app creates in the device calendar contains only a fixed title (TreatMark — Treat Day) and the date, as an all-day event. It does not include your note text or any other free-form text you entered. Note text is also never included in notification messages.

7. Where data is stored

All of the information listed in section 2 is stored in the app's own area on your device. It is not stored on any server or external storage managed by the developer.

8. What happens when you delete the app

When you delete the app from your device, the on-device data listed in section 2 is removed in accordance with how your operating system handles app deletion. The developer holds no copy of that data, so deleted data cannot be restored.

However, events already added to your device calendar may remain in that calendar as data outside the app's control. If you do not want those events to remain, either choose "Also delete future events I added" from the app's "Disconnect" option before deleting the app, or delete them directly in your device's calendar app afterwards.

9. Device calendar events are managed separately

Once an event is added to your device calendar, it becomes data belonging to that calendar. The app keeps identifiers for the events it created so it can update or delete them, but storage, syncing, and backup of the events themselves are handled by your device and your calendar provider.

The app's "Disconnect" option clearly separates two choices:

10. Third parties, advertising, analytics, and tracking

The app does not share your information with third parties. It does not serve advertising, analyze usage, or track you. Because the developer holds no information about you, there is no information to share in the first place.

11. Children's privacy

The app is not designed for any specific age group. As described above, the app does not collect or transmit personal information from its users, and therefore does not obtain personal information from children.

12. Changes to this policy

This policy may be revised as the app's features change. If a significant change is made, the "Last updated" date on this page will be updated. Revised terms apply from the moment they are published on this page.
